Couch to 5k

I'm sure that many of you have heard about the running program couch to 5k. If not check it out here. From what I can tell it looks relatively easy to follow, so that's what I'm going to do. I also found a podcast of it and I think that this will be alot easier to do as I will be told when to walk and when to run instead of looking at the clock.
I will let you know how it goes. Wish me luck :)
Thanks to everyone that told me to get rid of the halloween candy, it's comming to work with me tomorrow. My co-workers are going to love me..lol. Thank god tomorrow is another weight watcher week, cause this one has not been too good, well, the last three days haven't.
Have a great day!
Anne

Good luck with the couch to 5 k. I started it and tore my knee up. Not the programs fault, it was a bad knee to start with.
Halloween candy is evil.

I checked out the program and podcast; it looks awesome. Will you be doing this on a treadmill? How do you know what speed and incline to put it on?
good luck sweetie!! couch to 5K is supposed to be great. It's something I will definitely try out after I lose a little more. Running is too hard on my joints at this weight. But for you it should be awesome!
WooHoooo! I'm so excited about your little present your hubby bought you! That rocks. David and I have 2 DVRS hence the reason I watch so much TV. We don't have room for a treadmill though. If we did I'd totally get one and watch all my reality tv shows while walking.
Also I didn't realize that there is a podcast for the couch to 5k. Awesome! When David and I were training a while back I had to keep staring at my watch and it was a pain in the ass when it got dark. Hearing it would be a lot easier and a GREAT idea! :D
Okay I just downloaded that podcast and that guys voice is icky. He sounds scary. Also I hope that music doesn't get annoying. Still a great idea.
Hey!
Thanks for that idea!
My S.O. now wants to start running races and he's really very outta shape and just NOT a runner.
This will be a great option for him!
Also, thank you for that supportive comment. Everything ended up being great!
Hey Anne!
be carfull!! you might get addicted! :)'
Last year I started with 5k in the fall (Running Room), and then did 10k in the winter, and now I'm looking to do a half marathon maybe in the spring (I'm kinda scared to do it in Ottawa's winter, I don't know how bad it'll get! :).
Good luck with the new week - you'll do great!

PLEASE keep us posted on the couch to 5K. I've always wanted to do it, but have been overwhelmed by when to run, when not to run and all that stuff. Maybe I'll download the podcast as well! I'd assume you're treadmilling it as you just got a new one and its probably SUPER cold in Canada right now... so let me know how it goes. I could totally do that at the gym....
Keep up the good work!
The system totally works...my wife did it! Me...I'm a lazy monkay ;)
This sounds very interesting to me, this podcast thing you speak of! I totally miss my iPod, which got stolen six months ago, but if I still had it I would totally be on board for the podcast thing. I really like hearing direction while I'm working out, (i think that's one reason I love the yoga so much) but I've always loved running, so this sounds right up my alley. Keep us posted on how it goes!!!
PS - as to your comment about me working out with my fiance - believe me it took ENDLESS amounts of begging, pleading, yammering on and on and on about how fabulous Bikram is. Finally he caved, and he actually likes it. I definitely feel really lucky!
